A couple of years ago, our church held a "Renewing of the Vows" ceremony. Everyone got dressed up in tuxedos and nice dresses. We all congregated at the alter, and renewed our vows. Even the Atlanta paper came out and took a picture that made the front page. It was tough to find us in the crowd, but Stacy and I found ourselves. It was such an awesome feeling being able to renew our vows that I was overwhelmed with love. One thing Dr. Lowry mentioned, that I thought was a good piece of information and I had never thought about it that way, was that our marriages are covenants, not contracts.
Meaning, they are unconditional. America, today, seems to get lost in logistics and the "law" part of marriage, when we should focus on each other and the love you have for your GOD-GIVEN gift. Remember that. God gave you who you are married to. Never forget it. As a matter of fact, cherish them. That brings me to another point God showed me. His love for us is a covenant love. Unconditional and non-wavering. No matter what we do, God will never, EVER divorce us. He proved that at the cross. Think about it the next time you feel you've committed a horrible sin. with us as His creation and will not break it because He is love. Remember to love each other this week and for the foreseeable future, just like as Christ does. Continue to pray for each other. Pray that we continue to be Christ-honoring and that we stayed focused on the race to run. Remember to love each other and the special one in your life. I love you Stacy.
