Camping/ Kayaking Trip

So, I went on an overnight camping/ kayaking trip this past weekend in the north Georgia mountains, Ellijay to be specific, and had an absolute blast. Only problem was the traffic. This particular weekend was the Apple Festival, and of course everyone and their grandmomma was there. Apparently, after speaking with a couple of local yokels, people from all over the country come down for the annual festival. Anyhow, after setting up camp Friday afternoon, we settled in for some cold weather. It got down into the low 30's Friday evening, which was cold by my standards, thus freezing my butt off. After waking up on Satruday, we ran into town and grabbed some Waffle House (a Southerners version of a colon cleansing) then went back to camp to get ready for the freezing cold kayaking trip down the Cartecay River. The river was a bit low for this time of year, only about 300cfs (cubic feet per second for you whizzes out there) which made the paddling a bit scrapy, or boney. The rapids were nice though. On our trip, there are 3 major rapids. S-Turn, Washing Machine and Blackberry Falls. All three were nice. I have included some pics at the bottom. Over all it was a nice trip. My first time camping in over 10 years, and first kayaking trip this year. Last year, it seemed, I went kayaking every weekend, so I missed out a lot and was a little rusty. Only went over a couple of times, managed to perform the wet exits somewhat gracefully. My legs look like they have been caned, but other than that, I am in one piece.
