Well, here it is. Took a whole hell of a lot longer than I intended. Honestly, I got about 3/4 of the way done and just got really bored with this pic. I forced myself to just finish it up last night and now that it is I am pretty happy with it. There are parts that didn't come out great and parts I hate, but overall a good practice piece for digital painting. I think I now have the confidence to start working on putting together a submission to Marvel for a Cover Artist gig. I have about 6 pieces thumbnailed out and started painting two of 'em already. We'll see how it pans out, I don't really have high hopes, but what the hell, I'll give it a shot.

Cover to Hulk #5:

Pencils by Olivier Coipel, Inks by Mark Morales, Painted by me.

Thanks guys! @Caesar: The inker on the line art was Mark Morales and I believe he works almost exclusively with nib pens to ink, with occasional brush work. Definitely a talented man.

Sorry, nib pens, the kind you keep dipping into ink. People probably associate them with doing calligraphy, that kinda thing. Traditionally, comics used to be inked with a combo of nib pens and brushes. Today you see everything from nibs, brushes, technical pens like Rapid-o-graphs, toothbrushes, fingerprints, and even computer programs like Photoshop, Painter, and Illustrator. Myself, I use a little bit of everything.
