Re: Penn State/Bama

Good game.  I was wrong on the score, but had an accurate point spread.

How about JMU beating VA Tech?  Certainly takes steam out of Boise State's sails.

Good win for South Carolina.  Florida is looking beatable.  Tennessee is lost.  AU struggled, but MSU could surprise someone this year.  Ole Miss is a lost cause.  LSU has definite weaknesses.  I don't quite know what to make of Arkansas, guess we'll have a better idea after this weekend. I guess if there was ever a year of parity in the SEC, this would be it.

Penn St/Bama

This weekend, Penn State comes to the Capstone for the first time in 20 years.  I remember that homecoming game like it was yesterday, despite being a high school senior at the time.  Anyway, I've been looking forward to this game since it was signed a few years ago.  Joe Paterno is certainly the greatest living coach, and one of the top coaches of all time, if not the top (and coming from an Alabama fan, that's a compliment).  This will certainly be his last visit to Bryant Denny as head coach of the Nittany Lions.  I like JoePa, and I like Penn State, but I'm afraid Bama will have to dest

sick

Yesterday morning, I started coughing a bit.  I figured it was just a few too many cigarettes over the long weekend.  It got progressively worse over the course of the day, until my eyes started getting hot.  I don't know if that's a common thing, but whenever I'm coming down with something, my eyes get hot.  So last night, I get home, but have no daytime medicine.  I take 2 benedryls and proceed about my business.   I don't get sick often, so I'm pinning this one on the Dragon*Con cretins.  So today, I'll attempt to work from home.

odds and ends catchup

Well, Dragon*Con has come and gone. I always get a little depressed at the end of a good con, but I should snap out of it soon, maybe I'll buy a game tonight to cheer me up (more on that below). My pick for con guy of the year goes to Marc Singer (of Beastmaster fame). Sure, he's not a huge star, but the guy is just super nice and seems like he's happy to be at the con meeting people. He's good people.

Just about ready for Dragon*Con

I meant to leave work at 2:30 to go and pick up my badge.  By the time 5:30 rolled around, I really had to go.  I've never understood this about Dragon*Con.  They don't mail out passes if you buy early.  So, when it's the day before con, there is a line stretching for a block of people who pre-registered.  However, they don't limit the number of passes sold, so you go into the day-of registration, buy a 4 day pass, and miss the line.  Most people wait 2 hours to get their badges, I was in and out in 20 minutes.

Damn Cat!

The other day, one of my cats got out, and I blogged about the other cats treating her like feline non grata.  Well, last night, at around midnight, I realize that I haven't seen her since about 9 pm.  I undertake a full house sweep, and come up empty.  So, she escaped again.  Went outside looking for her and couldn't find her.  Finally, at 2:30AM, I decide to turn in for the night.  Right as I get into bed, I hear a cat meowing from outside.  I go downstairs, open the door and there she is.  It only took about 10 minutes of coaxing to get her in this time.
