RISE FROM YOUR GRAVE!!!!!

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!!! The Altered Beast arcade machine has risen from the grave! I was finally able to get the monitor up and working and it looks GREAT! Had to do the following: cap kit, new flyback transformer, H.O.T, voltage regulator, x901 transistor, IC501, new neckboard & unicorn tears. Ok, I may have substituted on the last one. i think i used phoenix tears instead. I know it sounds like a lot but, I had like maybe $65 or so wrapped up in all of it, give or take a few bucks.

Success!

WOOHOO!! Well after installing a cap kit in the After Burner monitor I was able to fix the brightness, fading & color issues (and a few others) but, I still had one problem. I kept getting dark vertical bars through the entire screen. I was posting for help on the KLOV forums and people pointed out that it was only in parts of the screen which indicated a possible problem with the game board or something along those lines. here's some pics:

If you don't know now you know...

G4 Link

Here's a link to the new microsoft kinect (formerly project natal). There's a section about half way down the article that talks about games. They list a Star Wars game. Now, I'm sure I don't have to explain this to anyone but, how sweet would it be to play something like this fully interactive?! Force push, light saber swinging, etc....! It all sounds great but sadly, this is what will happen:

Well...at least I didn't poop myself.

Compared to yesterday today was like a small piece of heaven. I was able to accomplish quite a bit around the house and still managed to get in some time to myself. Not to mention I had Chipotle for lunch!

Arcade Machine Madness

Well, like Waterborn said, "Welcome to the addiction!" This weekend I went out and picked up 3 new arcade machines: Altered Beast, Ninja Assault & After Burner! I was able to score all 3 machines for a little over $200! Of course the machines aren't perfect but, that's part of the excitement! I've been spending some time figuring out a new parts list for each machine & a BIG THANKS GOES OUT TO WATERBORN for helping me out! He provided some key information and directed me on the right path.
