Yikes... it just kinda hit me. I'm pregnant... that means a baby is on the way. (yeah... I have a biology degree... what?) It's actually odd thinking of having a wee little one around the house again. We have some things to get (basinet, rocker chair or swing) perhaps clothes.... Not many if we have a girl, but lots if we have a boy. Actually... not THAT many, we bought Erica lots of boy clothes: boy pants fit better for active kids, and girl shirts are often over the top girly... not our thing. We have been talking names. We have a girl name picked out, but no boy names have grabbed us.

But one of my clans is talking about how ugly Uggs are. Yes. They are talking shoes.

And no... it ain't TheCabal.

We are slowly (very... very slowly) packing up the house to get realy for staging and selling. Even though we plan on moving into a bigger place, we are trying to get rid of stuff, rather than move it (again).

Interesting article from Jezebel.com about how the popular kids in high school may not be any more happy than the losers. No new information there... lots of people are unhappy in h igh school. But they did point out a very interesting topic. Lots of people hate the popular kids.

So if the popular kids are hated... what makes popular, well... popular?

In the study they stated that a popular person has 5 key qualities. 1. physical attractiveness. 2. Able to intimidate others. 3. sexual experience. 4. wealth. 5. Regular drug/alcohol use.

Yes, while Valentine's Day is a total made up holiday (less shopping days +  the same rent as every other month = need to generate reason for spending $) but the sentiment is not. And yes, while we should tell the ones we love that we love them every day, why not truely celebrate it one day of the year?

In about 25 years and 7 months...

Yup: JayCat is expecting a JayKitten! My husband and I are over the moon. First ultrasound was a week ago and everything was fine. Today was the first doctors appointment: heard the heartbeat! To those of you not in the know: it sounds like swishing spit in your mouth really fast. Lovely.

So 11 weeks along takes us to August 31st. No Lan for me. But the reasons why are great.

So... that's the happy news. Yay us! Our junk still works!
