Labor Day

Here it is Monday, Labor Day.  Three of the teenagers have left for their drive home and the house is already quieter except for the two tvs showing a three way battle in Halo2.  Yesterday was Dastard's and my first anniversary.  Whew, we made it a year.  Our next goal is another year.  You know, keep expectations low. No, not really, that is a running joke with us.  Don't expect much and be happily surprised when those expectations are surpassed.  It was a good day.

My Hero

As most may know, my Elite finally red lighted and froze up playing Bioshock last week.  I called MS and ordered my coffin disappointed that we would be down one console this weekend with all the teenagers in the house.  Well, Dastard called me yesterday and asked about the Product REplacement Plan I had purchased with the Elite from Best Buy.  I had read the brochure and was under the impression that the PRP was in effect after the manufacturer's warranty had expired.  He encouraged me to call and check.  So, like a dutiful wife (hehe) I did.  Lo and behold, I was able to swap out the damaged

Lunar Eclipse

I was able to view the lunar eclipse this morning and it was, for lack of better words, awe inspiring.  While I wasn't out at 5:30CDT, I did view around 6am.  The moon had a fullness to its appearance and had a rose shading to it on the portion of the moon where it was passing out of the Earth's shadow.  While the night sky was brighter than no moon present, the moon itself was shadowed.  You could still make out the features of the moon, they were just darker.  Which makes sense because a lunar eclipse occurs when the moon passes between the Earth and the sun.  So, we can still see the moon.<

Now I am laughing

Since the xbox in the bedroom still works we switched out hard drives so oldest stepson could continue his Bioshock quest.  I got to thinking, why not put my hard drive on and try to connect to the Beta?  It doesn't require the use of the disk drive.  SUMMA Bucket!! It worked!!!!!!! Now, i have to admit the Elite is still going back.  Before I logged in the first time I booted up there was still a disk in the drive and we got a System Error message on the screen and one red light in the lower right corner.  So, my guess is that this whole issue has something to do with the disk drive.
