No rest for the Ziggs

The following entry was from my old blog site...a personal favorite of mine

The alarm clock goes off and I jump out of bed. Its 6am on this chilly saturday morning and I forget just what the hell Im doing up this early. I look at the wife and proclaim were late for work, she just glares that look of death in my direction...If youve never experienced that so called "look of death", your one of the lucky few.

"We dont work today..." she growls.

Just why then did I set the alarm for 6am, rather than our normal 5am wake up time? No matter I guess, seeing as how the dogs are now expecting to be let outside and our demon cat is chewing on whats left of my little toe...time to make the coffee.

Then it dawns on me! We have a 27 or 28 year old upstairs who needed a ride to work! Thats right...we need to give this eldest of the so called "children" in this house a ride to work.

I know the boy is grateful that we gave him a ride on this cold Minnesota morning, but its time reality slaps him across the face with a frozen fish...but I just grab my cup of freshly brewed coffee and head out the door to warm up the van. He comes out and gets in the van, hands me seven bucks for gas and were on our way.
Three minutes later we arrive at his job, he gets out of the van and speaks.

"Im done at noon." he shuts the door and walks away.

Sitting in the van, watching as he strolls thru the parking lot, I realize if I turn the wheel just a tad to the right and hit the gas he might be done much earlier than noon.

"How did this happen?" the cop would ask me.

"Not sure..."

"Did you know the victim?" he would ask.

"Not that I can recall...never seen him before." would be my reply.

Might be best if the wife picks him up at noon.
