Released a few hours early, this long awaited Unreal Engine powered game has finally launched on our curvy white boxes, but the question is.. Is this game worth the 1200 points?
Only for those who enjoy games with a large amount of puzzle solving and do not mind the aggravating controls mixed with some aggravating (at times) level design.
Once the controls are learned (basically you adapt to them since they are touchy and not at all accurate) this game is addicting and fun, but for 15 dollars it is not a purchase most people will make.
Graphically the game looks nice, but nothing that screams Unreal 3 Engine. However, at less then 50 megabytes of hard disk space, the team really did a nice job with graphics even if it could have been done in any other 3D Engine. I suppose saying Unreal Engine makes it sound Next Generation.
Sound and Music are well done and fit the game, which is a nice surprise. I expected some really poor sound effects once I started playing. There are no voices in the game and that is something I really wish they had. Perhaps a FREE download?

Controls are where this game will find its fans or detractors. They are twitchy and not accurate at all, but do become slightly second nature after s few minutes. I found even after a couple of hours that they just did not feel natural to me.
Physics are top notch as they should be since the animation and game play are all based on physics. Once you get the point to point weapon you can really have some fun stringing up items to create traps and pretty much anything you want.
Level design is boring at times, but not at every turn. There are some puzzles to solve that open up each area such as plugging in a fuse to open up an area and dropping boxes on an area to lower it and raise another area.
You can also buy different weapons, tools, armor and upgrades with credits you find in the game which is quick and painless. Each one looks different and has a unique use with some crazy effects. We suggest trying the fireworks for some insane physics fun.
Overall the game takes some time to get used to, but it is play worthy for those patient enough to sit and work the controls to learn the finer points of game play. If the demo does not grab you, save your points and wait for the next marketplace download.
Graphics 6/10 - Not next gen but not last gen either
Sound/Music 8/10 - Good quality and well done
Controls 4/10 - Poor until you get used to them
Overall 6/10 - Average / Above Average game
Final Thought - I bow to the developers of Roboblitz, they did a good job and this really shows the indi developer spirit to bring us something new and unique. Which is why I bought it. I hope we see more games like this in the future.
