netKar Pro just 4,99€ / $7 until the 1st of March and get access to the Assetto Corsa tech demo!
http://www.netkar-pro.com/main/
This offer is good until March 1st
It is on sale right now for the 4.99 euros. If you click the link it shows it is on sale in the upper right corner. So should only be about $7.
my bad, it wasnt showing that part on my phone :)
do u have to buy netkar to play the demo or can i just get the demo?
I am pretty sure you can play the demo, but not sure if that gets you the Assetta Corso tech demo.
expensive demo....ill wait till its free cause it will just endup another wasted game and $$$
That Assetto game looks intresting.
Hmm...starting to get beta overload, already spending much time on another sim that will remain nameless...Which is a shame cause your humble knight actually got a Dev to fix something that has been bugging folk for some time....gif)
Im just going to wait till they are done, if they ever do get done that is.
Done...that is a relative term these days. It seems that ongoing develpment is the way things are at the moment, and maybe for the forseeable future. Doesn't matter which sim you pick, not one is saying this is going to be finished on x date, every one is talking about ongoing development.

True, software is never Done. But they will have an official release which means it is out of Beta testing and ready for people to use. Of course there will be bugs and patches to come once it has been officially released. But at least with the official release we know it is in a better state than when it is in Beta.
You think so? rF2 is no longer labeled as Beta, it is now labeled "constantly evolving" Kronos have also made it clear functions will be added over a timespan of years. iRacing have an ongoing update program. The only one that might say, we are done is pCars, That is because there will be a simultaneous console release. Look out for pCars 2014/15/16 each one demanding buying a full price game.
The idea of finished games/sims is a thing of the past. Mind you I say that but rF1 took that route from the start. It's not all bad, I'd rather buy once and see that game grow and be supported for years to come than buy a new supposedly better game every year.
pcars will do the same thing as gt5...updates and addon packs for the consoloes, and more regular love for the pc.....so the same as all the other sims.....there was never any word of a pcars 14/15/16 and charging you?...all the focus is on supporting this title and getting more content/features/new tech. for the future.
Alot of people are missing the purpose and potential of this title. How many race games have i/we played and said "it would be awesome if it had this" ? With some of the new updates to the tire physics i honestly think its gonna be too hardcore for the majority of console players to handle unless they add a numbed version or arcade handling mode to the game. The new BMW M3 gt tire physics is on par with iracings gt cars and it hasnt been tweaked yet or have the continual road ffb added, the game is making big strides and the forums regulars have really been voicing there opinions of current dislikes within the game
The whole concept of this game is to eliminate that "I wish" factor and build a game based on the communities input.....if you dont say something nothing will be heard!
Sim racing has become my #1 hobby and to be able to have a say in the outcome and participate in this project and hopefully make some $$$ from it is truely amazing!
If this community funded concept succedes the gaming industy will forever be changed......no more developers giving us half ass bullshit games just to follow up a slightly better version, only giving us content they feel like giving us or not doing future updates. It would completley eliminate all the garbage competitors and your favorite games genre would be the best they could. No more seeking or wondering if theres possibly a better title.
If the game fails that means 80000+ sim racing members failed. Slightly mad has alot to loose with the whole project as well since more than half the game has been funded by the community. If its a flop or they release the game with out the majority of the communities consent its game over for them, they would never be able to develope or sell a game again lol
In the grand scheme of things the whole pc sim racing community is very small and the devs are on a budget, so with just under a $4 million budget to fund pcars and our input there should be no reason for this game to fail.....if it does it will be pretty pathetic and one of the all time greatest gaming scams.
Some interesting points.
Also what with the amount of sim racing games lately? Market is getting saturated!
Good for us though ish
Heh Kurrupt you defend pCars with the same enthusiasm as I defend rF2 LOL, I stand corrected on that point then. But if anything it confirms my previous one, race sims in particular are all going with the constantly evolving theme. To be fair most of them are taking community input and applying it, also rF2 is in a sense partially community funded, by buying into the beta. It's also community driven. The difference is you can invest into pCars in the hope of financial return.
Theres no doubt all the upcoming titles are gonna be great! and at this day in age with the tech. available theres no reason why they shouldnt be? Ill never say ones better than the other cause they all have there own quirks, I just liked the concept of pcars and most of all the potential to get money back lol
I was guilty of considering pcars a mediocore flashy console game a few weeks back, so my concern for the game led me to alot of forum reading to really see where the game is at and if other people felt the same way......so long story short regarding the physics current state so people understand why it feels weird for most cars. People wanted a whole new physic model so they rebuilt one from scratch and was just introduced to the gt cars and a new tire carcass for the karts. So know they just started working with ben collins on the turn in feedback....once there content they will move to mid corner than turn exit....when done there going to go back and do it again for wet weather.....than they will add the continual road feedback do it again lol...than addthe tire wear etc. it has a loooong way to go and testing from the community is kinda at a stand still cause the aliens cant give accurate feedback cause theres no road feedback and a semi finished physic model in place yet.....ive been spending a few hrs daily running the m3 gt car and i could feel a huge improvement even though i was just running a wip tire model I cant see this game being complete by holiday season theres just so much left.
I love rfactor for the endless amount of available content and for how longevity of there games.
I am really interested in testing AC seems every forum i read on ffb and physics Netkar pro allways pops up? and being the last to release they ve had a chance to see what the others have to offer and they look to have a little bit of everything available :)
In the end it all comes down to personal preference and how you wanna spend your money and which ffb feels good to the buyer.....Ive given up judging the ffb everyone has there own prefernce.....strong, heavy, lite etc. I like a semi lite weight with lots of subtle ffb to get a good feel for the car....alot of them currently have such heavy weight it feels like iam tightening the hatch to a submarine lol, but none the less ill still buy them all :)
Yup agree wiv yer mate, it's like I have said. their all coming from different directions but heading to the same place, as rF2 is based on rF Pro, the sim many F1 teams use, they had a head start when it came to physics, and things like air density and humidity and real road that also come into play, but lag on graphics. though they are getting there, Slightly Mad of course know their way around graphics and built a solid graphics engine and are setting about the job of physics. AC has been in development for some time with several missed deadlines but behind closed doors until now...mixed responses to the tech build, predictably enough.
Interestingly while users are pitting all the sims against each other, the developers all know each other and welcome the challenge, so there can only be good come from that, each team pushing the next to greater heights.
I just hope they all have joypad support!
Won't even have pit stops on release, and all those things like weather and real road are also going to be missing...at the moment it looks like the classic Italian recipe of style over function, gonna be a while until this one hits my hard drive, but I suspect it will sooner or later.
same boat m8....just waiting to see what comes. The one bug that got me was being supported by fanatec theres no clutch mapping being recognized? another report came out today that the higher your fps the faster your lap times are by a few seconds lol Apparently the ingame widgets are having a big fps hit , testers are reporting a hit of 70-100 fps by just adding 2 widgets but seems to be coming from mostly ati users. In all fairness it has alot of potential and its only a tech demo thats filled with just as many bugs as all the other sims being developed :)
Well not really, it's missing so many features others already have it's a long way behind...and you still don't have rF2 to you are not realy able to compare are you LOL.gif)
Damn rF2!!
Need to get it Knight. Your a very good sales man!
Heh, yeah maybe. I will add this caveat with reference to you in particular, remember much of my pleasure comes from how it feels, the connection with wheel, car and road. I cannot say that I know it will feel as good with a Pad, I am assuming that because it has all I think you will need by way of settings for the Pad you will be able to dial it in but it's not a given and the excellent FFB is meaningless to you. But the physics will be the same, real road and such will still effect the feel, we will need to wait until kurupt picks it up do do online together, though there are quite a lot of empty servers we could purloin thinking on it...
Yeah the real physics and road surface ect will be fun
Also the rain and tire ware and just cool stuff like that should make it worth it!
Still some work to do there, real road runs at an accelerated rate and weather is there right enough but rain effects (spray etc.) are still missing, many of these were in earlier builds and are just awaiting revisiting by the devs. For me that is half the pleasure, knowing that this is just going to get better and better....I do look forward to the inevitable "how the feck do I" questions that could be comiing my way...
New video released!

Just like all the next gen sim racers, looks pretty but how are the physics? If it looks pretty but the cars handle like shite, then I will pass.
have you not tried the demo? there pretty good!
