Metal Gear Solid for the PS3, exclusively?

Hideo Kojima, creator of Metal Gear Solid is reported to have confirmed that the next installment of the classic stealther will be a Playstation 3 exclusive game. He told gamestop that porting the game to others consoles would require a much larger staff.

Opinion
Details regarding the new game are almost non-existant, but Kojima did comment regarding the technology of the PS3 enabling the game environment to be modelled entirely in 3D. He described existing games as being like movie sets. A good comparison since polygon models with textures painted on them pretty much describes a Hollywood set.

Kojima went on to talk about PS3 and X360 technology. Apparently he feels that a limited number of developers will be able to really make the PS3 sit up and sing. Further he likened the PS3 to a sumptuous feast, and the X360 to Sunday dinner.

Seems like Gamespot has stumbled on a pile of interviews at Famitsu, a Japanese gaming magazine. Most, seem to be from the E3 period when the actual details regarding the systems was less than sparse, and PS3 dev kits had yet to even ship.

I wonder whether the comments reported might differ now that the specs are more available and dev kits for PS3 have actually shipped.

So, completely modeled 3D environments, sounds like there will be a completely interactive environment. I like the sound of that, the more interactive the environment, the more immersive.
