This is the only working guitar I have left so I figured it was time to replace it. I looked on Amazon and happen to see the Fender Wooden Stratocaster Replica on sale for $99 (regular price is $299 - actually already back up to about $150). On a whim I decided to get it, I figured at that price if it lasts twice as long as the plastic controllers I've been using it is worth it.
Well, it arrived yesterday and after an hour or so with it I'm blown away by the quality (something I'd never thought I'd say about a Mad Catz product). My initial impression is at $100 this thing is a steal.
I got the red one (because red ones are faster) :). Here's some images I stole from this review http://www.fakeplasticrock.com/2011/03/fender-wooden-stratocaster-replica-review/
This thing sure is pretty! Hopefully it holds up over time. So far I've only been playing it on Hard difficulty, coming from the Guitar Hero guitars I'm going to need a while to adjust to the button layout, but I should be back up to expert level (on most songs) in a week or two. If it stops working I think I'll just hang it up on my wall. Oh, did I mention it was pretty?
