Shared on Mon, 08/30/2010 - 18:48Today is epic, my friends. I've been walking around with a snippet of a song in my head now for over a DECADE, and I finally stumbled across its' source on the Internet today. CRAZY! The song is called "Do Anything" by Natural Selection which was the group's only hit in 1991. It made it somewhat big for a few weeks on the radio, and I remember remarking how much it sounded like Prince back in the day. Probably will drive you crazy to hear it now, but here it is in all its guilty pleasure glory.
For the record, I had the "Just, just can't get, just can't get enough" part stuck in my head forever.
This discovery is second to my own personal best-ever "song in the head revelation" of Level 42's "Something About You," a song that was carried around in my head for about 20 years before I finally discovered the source of the melody. The part here was the falsetto refrain right before the chorus: "Drawn into the streeeeeeeeam, of unnnndefiiiined illuuuuuuuusionnnn. Those diamond dreeeeeams, they cannnn't disguiiiiiise the truuuuuuth." When I finally nailed this song down I almost cried at the fact that I could finally listen to the whole thing and stop guessing. Heck of a bass player, by the way!
