Carpet is installed, walls painted, doors hung (except one), lights lit.   All that remains is finish trim work and the dreaded ‘moving of the pool table’, shopping for the proper bar set up, and a “small” TV….I’m thinking 40” LCD….unless they make a swiveling, telescoping mount for larger TVs….. I will post pictures once we wrap up a few more points.

In other news, I am no longer an accountant. HR (aka the glorified file clerks) has determined that the work I do is not accounting. Well DUH! I’ve been telling them that for years….but I’ve been telling them that in an attempt to start doing something more accounting-like. So they have changed my job title and description to the point where I am now only eligible for promotions into positions directly above me or lateral movement into an equivelant position but if I take one of those promotions I will be ineligible for promotions to any other section…..these are the same people who take points off of my promotion score sheet because I have a degree and it puts people without a degree at a disadvantage. GRRRRR!!!!! Why don’t they just hold a random lottery for promotions?  It’s no worse than their current system.
But at least I have November to look forward to thanks to Microsoft’s press briefing.

I guess it’s time to start sending out applications/résumés again.

Hey Auto, Congrats on the ManCave. I think there are swivel/pullout mounts for at least 55". The wall its mounted too is usually the issue in basements. But they get lighter as time goes by, my newest 52" weighs as much or less then the 5 year old 32". Good luck with the job thing. Just remember, a job is a job. As with most jobs there is the trade off between the small personal company and the indifference of a large company, that is usually security.

As someboy who works as an advisor to HR departments, I wish I could offer some rationale as to why they do what they do. But I can't. The bigger the corporation, the more mindless and idiotic those people are.

Good luck on the job thing Auto. Keep us updated with some pictures! My basement is on the shits right now. I had to rip out half of my carpet because of a clogged condensation pump line.

@JPNor well, at 70,000 employees and about $8billion in expenditures for my department alone, we're a friggin HUGE company (aka Government) @Bonecollektor I'm keeping my fingers crossed that that we don't run into water issues, broken pipes, or anything like that.
