Starting the job hunt.

Let me explain a bit….I am a State employee, I really do work hard, and don’t like to sit with nothing to do…so when the PA budget didn’t pass on time we are still required to come to work and do our jobs…but we won’t be getting paid until after an agreement is reached and the budget passes….currently the estimated timeframe to have this resolved is late august at the earliest…yes, I am going to work and not getting paid….I would normally say “fine, the situation sucks but we’ll get by...” but wait…they made special arrangements so the Welfare payments still go out to the people who aren’t working at all...but that’s not the end of it…the state prisons are still paying the inmates….yes, they get paid for being in prison while the guards who are watching them won’t get a dime until the budget passes….all this has been carefully planned by our big boss, the Governor, so the House and Senate can’t force his hand like they did the past 3 years and he’ll be able to hold out until he gets all of his demands. Part of what he demands is a $2 Billion increase to the same budget that had a $3.5 Billion shortfall last year….

 

And with all this getting under my skin, someone decided to start digging around in our HR profiles (since we work for the state it is all public information open to anyone able to find it) and started spreading this really funny story about me being the hardest worker in my entire section….and being the lowest paid by a full 15%....which I new I was the lowest paid, but really, that’s a ridiculous span...in private industry I’d have an argument for a raise….but the state government doesn’t work that way…I get paid based on my job description not on what I actually do with the increases based on my time spent with the state….

  

 

 

So, on another note….Happy Bungie Day! today is the day we celebrate our future world leaders currently known as “the Bungie Team” we serve them loyally now and hope to reap the benefits when they own/rule the world in the near future. And may their aim be true when they fire their enemies into the sun with their giant slingshots…(yes I am sending them applications/résumés  as well….
