new toys

yes the wife and I got new toys today, my wife had a voice mail on her phone and as she tried to check it, her phone wouldn't recognize the network.....so off to Verizon we go....the average repair price, $120. but being near the end of our contract we decided to upgrade....good bye to our matching Samsung U740s and hello to our new matching Blackberry Curves.....so now I can check my email anywhere, unlimited internet, unlimited data and texting.....and I can link it to my work email!!!......or not....it's bad enough I'm putting in extra hours without pay, working through my lunches and breaks and taking on the duties of 3 other people.....if that doesn't net me a promotion, answering emails from home won't make any difference.

now on to other things....my wife is currently tearing her hair out trying to run a batchlorette party for her best friend.....where one of the girls showed up with other friends, already drunk, loud, and annoying.....this was planned as a simple night clubbing and taking in the Harrisburg night life....which became a night of one person partying WAY too hard and making the other 4 girls (including the bride) very uncomfortable..... and I have just finished a nice meal at my parents house, watched Transformers for the 80th time.and will now try to get another achievement or two from Grid before it goes back to Gamefly on monday...but for gaming, I'm just biding my time until RedFaction comes out....and then Borderlands....and Brutal Legend....and about 50 other games......I get the feeling this will be another expensive year of gaming......

now on to busines......it appears as though my appearance at the LAN will have to wait for another year....we have decided to put the money for the trip into finishing the gameroom/bar/workshop in the basement....my parents have decided they will no longer store my tourniment size 1890 edition pool table...so we have to push up the time table a bit..... but we still have off work for the 6th through the 10th......so inplace of the LAN we will be spending the time at my family's condo on Kure Beach NC.   I hope to get in some good surf fishing, spear fishing, maybe a wreck dive or two, and some much needed rest.....we may even try to extend that long weekend into a full week.....who knows.....it's just been too long since I've spent time on the water.....and I feel it calling me.
