I headed over to GameUniverse (www.gameuniverseonline.com/) today in Framingham, MA (west of Boston) to check out a Street Fighter IV Tournament that they were hosting. If you live in the Greater Boston area and have never been to Game Universe, you owe it to yourself to check this place out. Situated in a rather non-descript basement location along Router 9, this place has a little bit of everything for the gaming enthusiast. They have a wide selection of new and used games and consoles, including current gen and vintage stuff. They also have 6 large flat-screen TV's where you can rent time to play your favorite games. They also have space for LAN's, coin-op machines and most importantly - A bathroom, so you never have to wander far from the action. If you get hungry, there is a McDonalds on one side and a pretty damn good Chinese restaurant on the other. I was speaking with the owners today about setting up some 2old2play events here (think local NE LANs and pre-PAX East parties), so stay tuned for details.
Here area a few pictures from Game Universe to give you an idea of the layout.

Twitter Bump
So I came home tonight from the SFIV Tourney at Game Unvierse to find that my Twitter Feed (twitter.com/AOWWaterborn) is now being followed by 114 people. The last time I checked, I was floating just above 100, so thanks to all my new followers!
Road to the LAN
I have been working with the site Adminsa and PR team to come up with some ideas to help promote the 2old2play Chi-LAN and bulid excitment about this event. One idea that I had was to get members in various regions of the country to set up and host mini-LANs in the months prior to the main event. These gatherings don't have to be huge, expensive endeavors. They could be simply in-home events or slightly larger gatherings at places like GU above. The goal is to start to bring 2old2play members together and get them pumped about meeting other in the Community, with the eventual goal to get as many people to Chicago in August as possible. So if you are interested in setting up such an event and want a little help from yours truly (from afar of course if you are not in NE), shoot me a PM, let me know what kind of event you would like to host and how I can help.
Cool Vintage Console Peripheral

I have had this Sega Master System Adpater for my Genesis for some time. So after finally getting around to picking up a few games for it today while at GU, I decided to clean it up and see what's what. Bascially, this adpater plugs in to the cartridge slot of a First Generation Genesis (it won't fit on a second or third gen Genesis) and plays old Sega Master System games. I picked up Thunder Blade (a top-down, vertically scrolling shooter that puts you in control of a chopper), Choplifter (a side-scroller wher you, once again, control a chopper and try to save stranded soldiers while dodging fire) and Double Dragon (if you don't know what this game is about, you most likely don't meet the minimum age requirement for this site, so run along Timmie). The adapter works great and the games are all fun. Now if I can get get my hands on an actual Sega Master System Console, I have a pair of electronic 3-D glasses for the system that I am dying to try out!
