Chris DiBari Interview is Up

So my interview with Chris DiBari is now up on the Front Page here: www.2old2play.com/News/Audio_Interview_with_the_comic_artist_of_The_Warriors

As I have mentioned in previous blog posts, Chris is the Principle Artist for the new Warriors Comic Book Series and also did some work for the upcoming game for XBLA The Warriors - Street Brawl. This is my first official audio interview and I put some time into the editing. I would love to get some feedback on what everyone thinks of the end product. So be sure to check out the interview and post a comment. If you really like the piece, please dig it as well. If you post a comment under the interview page linked above, you will be entered in a drawing to win some cool Warriors comic SWAG, including copies of Issue # 1 and perhaps a limited edition cover or two courtesy of Dable Brothers Publishing, Chris' Label.

Ditigal Memories Issue # 1 Contest Still Running

If you have not done so already, check out the first article in my new bi-weekly column on all things classic gaming - Digital Memories (www.2old2play.com/News/Digital_Memories___Looking_in_the_Rear_View_Mirror_to_See_the_Future). Post a comment under the article on the Front Page and be entered to win a cool Classic Atari 7800 Video Game System and 14 games. Also on the Retro scene, I am working on modding a second Generation I Xbox. In addition to being able to stream videos, music and pics via XBox Media Center, this modded box will also be loaded up with emulators and a ton of classic games from a wide variety of systems including Atari, Intellivision, ColecoVision, NES, SNES, N64 and various Sega Systems. So keep any eye on this blog for updates on this project. Issue # 2 of Digital Memories will cover my personal collection of over 18 classic home video game systems, including a list of my personal favorites for each system. So be sure to check out the next installment when it hits the front page, hopefully next week. And of course, my column sponsor SoCal Mike from  www.chasethechuckwagon.com will have more cool classic gaming SWAG up for grabs in support of the next issue.

Afro Samurai

So I finally got hold of a copy of Afro Samurai and cannot say enough good things about this game. After reading some of the initial reviews I was a bit concerned that I would have issues with the controls. However, after about 2 hours of gameplay tonight, I am happy to confirm that the controls are rather intuitive once you get used to them. The style of this game is unabashedly slick and bloody, as it should be. The music by the RZA is unparralleled and the gameplay itself is very enjoyable so far. I highly recommend this title to anyone who love games like Ninja Gaiden (without the brutal difficultly), is a fan of the Anime Series or is into classic Asian Martial Arts films. This game has it all. You even get to fight naked femail ninjas! What more could you want? Keep an eye out for my full review once I get through the game.
