Games I'm playing

But I just realized I haven’t done a “what am I playing” blog….so, here it goes

 

I’m helping my wife a lot with her gamer score…no I’m not playing for her, but I do the Co-op stuff with her…so we are only one achievement away from getting her the 1000/1000 on Lego Star Wars 2, we’re only missing that STUPID achievement to beat the final mission without dieing…I hate that mission.  So this gives me a chance to get back into some games that we haven’t played in a year or more.

 

But here's what I'm playing:

 

Rise of the Argonauts- it’s an interesting game, very Mass Effect-ish.  I feel the Camera controls were very well done. The combat feels ok, it’s a bit out of place, but I felt that way with Mass Effect too. in place of the good/bad paragon/renegade options, you choose your dialog based on the virtues of your patron gods and they will eventually offer you “aspects”….the aspects are your abilities, it’s a kind-of tech-tree approach where you earn points to apply by dedicating your actions (completed missions/numbers of enemies killed) to that goes and improve their favor. The only issues I have with it, is you can’t revisit places (at least I haven’t been able to yet, and I’m almost at the last boss battle.) and there are some minor clipping issues with walking, but it’s not really that bad.

 

Eat Lead; The Return of Mat Hazzard- fun game, I don’t see any replay-ability here, but the parody that it offers of the “overused videogame heroes” like Sonic and Crash. It has some minor glitches, but nothing that really gets in the way.  Not much more to say about this one, but its parody value makes this one a must play for the old school game fan.

 

Halo Wars- let me start off by saying, I hate this game, I hate it I hate it I hate it, but I can’t stop playing it. I was planning on getting into FEAR2 that I bought last week, but this game came and now it’s all I play. I want all the skulls, I want all the achievements….but I just get SOOOOOOO frustrated with these games…now let me tell you why. I played missions 1, 2, and 3 on the hard….then mission 4….I HATE these missions, those missions where you have to turn the difficulty the whole way down to “I’m a friggin’ pansy” easy mode just to survive, and forget about the skull and black box, because I need every unit on the one drop ship, screw the others, they can friggin die for all I care, I just want to win and finish this level….but it still takes me 4 attempts on pansy mode to win!  

 

Peggle- yes, I play Peggle….not sure what else I can say here…it explains itself.…do you play peggle? No? Why not!?! Go, play now or we can’t be friends anymore.

 

FEAR2….I haven’t even opened the case yet…I feel dirty for that. But I can’t stop playing Peggle.
