We will be celebrating the release of Capcom’s new fighting behemoth, Street Fighter IV, with a Community Release Party on Friday the 20th. This will be an informal event designed to get members familiar with the new game mechanics, teach Street Fighter newbies a few moves and let the veteran’s get is some head to head ass whooping.

We will set up two types of rooms, one for new players not familiar with the game play and characters of the Street Fighter Universe and one for veteran’s who are Ready to Rumble and want to get right to the brawling. So regardless of weather you consider yourself a Ryu Master or if you have no idea who Ryu is, join us for some Fighting Fun.

 

A big thanks goes out to INKA_COLA and MancoTheGr8 from 2old2fight (http://www.2old2play.com/modules.php?name=Clans&clan=2old2fight) for their assistance in setting up this event. If you are a Street Fighter Veteran and are interested in heading up either a Newcomer or Veteran room for this event, please pm either INKA or Manco and let they will get you all set up. The folks over at 2old2fight have set up an XBL Silver Account “AA SF IV” so that you can see who is online via the “Friends of Friends” function via Xbox Live. So be sure to send a FR to this Gamer Tag and join us on Friday, February 20th from 9:00 pm until the last played collapses from button mashing fatique for some Ass-kicking Good Times.

 

 

If you listen to the weekly 2old2type podcast by Dsmooth and Codemonkey (http://www.2old2play.com/News/2old2type_Ep_68__OneChanbara ), you will know about the oddest new release of the week – Onechanbara: Bikini Samurai. This Japanese release mixes scantily clad females bearing weapons such as Katanas and Machine Guns against, you guessed it, Zombies! In the interest of pure research, I picked up the game yesterday and have been playing through the story line. So keep your eyes open for my review of this title, which should be hitting the front page very soon. Now I must go take a shower, because this title makes me feel dirty.

 

 

 

One final note, we have several Community Events on the horizon that I wanted to let everyone know about. After our Street Fighter Release Party next week, we will be looking forward to our rescheduled “Grudge Match” with the folks over at SFX360 (http://www.sfx-360.com/index.php). This event will include head to head competition between 2old2play members and those from the SFX360 Community in one or more gaming titles for online bragging rights. Currently, we are looking at including Gears of War 2, Halo 3 and COD into the mix. The tentative date for this event is Sunday, March 15th (To Be Confirmed). So if you would like to represent 2old2play and kick some Florida Gamer ass, stay tuned for more details.

 

 

And finally, I am also in discussions with the folks over at Sega America (http://www.sega.com ) about setting up some regularly scheduled programming here at 2old2play.com, so stay tuned for more updates on this initiative as well.
