GOW Issue # 4, Twitter Pimp Contest & CPD Drawing Winner

So I have alot of cool stuff to cover in a short space here today. First, I picked up Issue #4 of the Gears of War Comic Book Series yesterday. This 6-part mini-series covers the short period right before the Gears of War 2 story picks up and introduces several characters including Jace and Barrick. I have been following this series and really dig the artwork and story, so check them out if you can find them at a comic book store near you.

Can't find the Gears of War Comics near you? No worries, I have you covered in two ways. First, the 2old2play Twitter Pimp Contest is still under way. What is a 2old2play Twitter Pimp? (You might ask if you are new to the site or my blog).

Twitter Pimp Contest Update

As many of you know, I post updates about 2old2play Community Events and Activities via my Twitter account (http://twitter.com/AOWWaterborn). I currently have just under 130 followers. Seeing Twitter as an excellent medium by which I could get the word out about 2old2play and all the cool things we have going on, I decided to start up the Twitter Pimp Contest. Basically, contestants vie for a chance to win free SWAG by referring others to follow me on Twitter. All you have to do is get a friend to follow me via Twitter and then post a message stating that they were referred by you. What's at stake you ask? The first person to refer 25 new followers will win a full set of Gears of War Comics (Issue # 1 - 6, plus the LE Gamestop Edition of Issue # 1).

At the start, competition was fierce. However, with everything going on lately, things have slowed down a bit.

To bring everyone up to date, here is a list of who is currently leading the pack (as of 7:00 am EST on 2-17) with the most referrals:

Seeson – 17 followers (Still in the lead)

SFX_LADYJ – 10 followers (strong out of the gate, but not much action lately)

Boomer Shooter - 8 followers (late entry coming on strong)

SFX_PALLIDIAN – 4 followers

There is plenty of time for you to get into the game, so start Pimpin' now! Remember, the only way you can get credit for a referral is if that person posts something like “Sent to you by <username>”.
