First off let me say FRIGGIN AWESOME!!!! The guys from Roosterteeth have a new series!!! It’s called Red Vs Blue Relocated. I love this. BRING BACK DONUT!!!

Second…I know I don’t get into politics much but I am seriously torn on this topic….
I am opposed to the new bailout. Aside from the massive amount of money being thrown at projects that will in no way help the economy, throwing money at the current problems can only prolong the problem….why? well, if right now I gave every person reading this $1,000 (as a side note, I will not be giving everyone who reads this $1,000), what is the first thing you would do, knowing that the economy has the potential to get much, much worse? Will you run out and buy a new TV? New car? Pay current bills or put it in savings?

My guess, if you answered honestly, would be save it or pay bills…because if you are at risk of losing your job you want to hang on to as much as you have to ensure the continuation of your lifestyle…or at least have a cushion in case you lost your job. Now picture a business…through this package, you get paid for hiring new people…how many people will you hire….and how long will you keep them….if you are only looking at the numbers, you will hire as many as the package allows, and once the program is over and you don’t receive any additional money for those hires, will you keep them? doubtful. will you compare the new employees to your old ones and keep the best? Either way, once again, people are on the street. Unemployment skyrockets, the economy again falls, as does the housing market….and we are no better off….

Now, lets look at how the great depression was overcome….those who were unemployed, destitute, desperate…they looked for work and found none, so they survived the only way they could, they put everything on the line to start their own business…some of those businesses failed, but many survived, survived and grew to become the new fortune 500 companies….they became Disney and Hershey, and other big name companies that were around, changed to meet the new demands like Proctor and Gamble….but where are companies like that today? Most companies are based on rules that prevent them from changing to meet new demands…and if no one demands your product, you go out of business…this is not a time to bail out companies who maintain (or overpopulate) dieing markets…yet that is what we do. Pennsylvania(specifically the governor) gave a massive bailout ($30mil state funds, and $60mil through a state insured loan from several banks) to the retail chain Boscovs to aid the company because it can’t maintain sales to compete with online retailers (despite him being a major campaign contributor to our horrible Governor)…if the company is dieing because it can’t compete, it needs to die or change directions and find a new niche. A market won’t magically come back because you throw money at the companies that maintain it…even if you throw money at the consumers, every market must adapt or die….but that economic fact seems to fall on deaf ears with the government….

Now I did say that I was split on the decision....but it may be hard to tell from that above rant…well, here is my involvement…our gloriously corrupt governor is currently holding both my job, and my wife’s job hostage…if this stimulus package doesn’t’ go through with the state of PA getting the full amount that they demand ($2.5 Billion). The governor of PA intends to lay off every state employee (possibly including state police officers.) until the difference can be made up….that could be 6 weeks of no income for our entire household….we would lose our house, our car, everything….now for the big question….is this something Fast Eddie has to do? No. In fact he is claiming that there is no other option…and yet, if he lays us off, his good buddy, and campaign contributor whom he hired to a job he created, during a hiring freeze, at 90k a year will be one of a select few who would not be laid off….why? Because he said so…and claims “it has nothing to do with him being a campaign contributor”. BS, ya criminal commie bastard!

And what about the long list of cost saving projects that was given to him prior to his creating this budget? The list of over$2.5 billion in savings? It was denied, because it included, 1. laying off his kick back buddy, and 2, cutting some of his personal WAM projects. Now, lets look back at every Fiscal year end….every year, he proposes his budget (this year included numerous spending INCREASES, but we’ll save that issue for another blog), and every year he attaches the comment, if it is not approved, exactly as it is, he will lay off every state employee until his exact version is passed….and he has laid us off, one year it was because they questioned one part of his budget, just one….but he will not compromise. We got a day off for that one….(and btw, this directly affects about 70,000 Pennsylvanians and their families.

So, pass the bailout, and I lose all faith in the system (what little I had left)….don’t pass it, and we suffer the unemployment lines.…and possibly lose out House and Car.

On another note
... how is it bipartisan to have big Us vs Them speeches and to cut out the Republicans from the meetings, then accuse the Republicans of not playing nice….I don’t want to know what happens if the Dems completely take over the house and senate….it will be ‘Brave New World’ meets ‘Atlas Shrugged’….and if that’s the case, I’m going to be the first person knocking on the doors of Atlantis.

But that’s it, I’m done with politics….I hate politics, I hate the games they play to create loopholes for themselves . I hate the shady deal making. I hate how I can’t even find out what the weather will be because National politics take precedence over even the severe weather reports on our LOCAL news.

I'm in the same boat waiting to hear what the furlough plan will be. Sucks.
