On Sunday, I drove back home, and witnessed one of the worst cases of road rage I've ever seen.
I'm driving south on I-35, just north of Oklahoma City (about 10 miles north) when two cars get on the interstate from entrance ramp. One was a Toyota Avalon and the other was a Suburu Outback.
What was interesting, was it appeared that both vehicles entered onto the interstate side-by-side.
Ok, I thought... that's interesting.
So both get on the interstate side-by-side, with the Suburu in the passing lane, trying to go by the Toyota.
Just then, the Toyota moves into the passing lane and cuts off the Suburu, and slams on his brakes.... Holy shit.
I back off my speed and sit back and watch as these two idiots start going at it on the interstate.
The Suburu speeds up and starts tail-gating the Toyota, who, slams on his brakes again. Then the Suburu tries to pass the Toyota in the right lane, and the Toyota moves and cuts it off and slams on his brakes in that lane as well.
Fuck, this is an accident waiting to happen as these two morons road rage with each other. So I call 911 who transfers me to the Oklahom State Patrol.
For those of you who have never driven in Oklahoma, the Oklahoma State Patrol is all over the place. Especially around Oklahoma City.
So I'm talking to the State Patrol Dispatcher, giving her what direction we are going, what the vehicles are doing, and what mile marker we are on... All the while, the idiots are trying to pass each other and force one another to rear-end the other.
The guy in the Suburu sees me on the phone I think, as suddenly he moves to an exit ramp at the last second and gets off the interstate.
The Toyota continues on, and I maintain my space behind him as I would rather not be involved in his idiocy. A few miles later, he also exits.
Just as I roll into Oklahoma City, I see two unmarked State Patrol cars hauling ass north to the area I just came from.
I hope the idiots got busted
