Shared on Tue, 01/30/2007 - 13:00Monday nights have begun to stink for me in terms of gaming. I come home from work and want to blow off some steam with my clanmates but the schedulers of TV have made that a pain for me.
Let me preface that I have 2 HD DVR's in my home and can easily record and watch a program whenever I want. The problem is that I seem to have an illness where I feel it is necessary to watch the show shortly after a recording has taken place.
So I end up coming home on Monday and after getting things with the family settled for the night go into DVR mode. I start off with Pardon the Interruption (which I watch religiously) before moving on to Battlestar Galactica. By the time Battlestar is over, I have enough of a buffer built to start 24. After 24 is over, it's off to Heroes and then to bed (Rome and Extras end up waiting until Tuesday).
Now I do have other shows that I watch (and some with my wife) but at least they are spread out enough where I can still get some gaming time in with my brothers. It's gotten to the point where I have even cut out some shows from my DVR just to make sure there is time to game.
Having friends to play multiplayer is what makes gaming enjoyable to me. And even though I think all of my clanmates are extremely sick individuals, I have chosen to cut TV time out just for the privilege of getting shot by one of them.
I wonder how many other 2o2p people have put their gaming time priority over shows?
