Welcome to another glorious Monday. I'm sure everyone is happy to get back to work! Okay, I'll shut up, don't hit me. During the events of my last post, I was also tasting my beers. They were all delicious but had varied effects on my gaming. Coincidence? Eh, probably but if you're a superstitious gamer I'll give the data anyway. The first two brews tout themselves as very popular in their respective countries as well as the world.

Fullers London Pride

Their web site says their UK's #1 selling premium pale ale. At first sip you receive a somewhat of a sharp bite that changes quickly into a smooth refreshing taste. You may not want it as a starter beer. I liked it better drinking it after some of the others. Sometimes we have to wake up our taste buds in order to appreciate a more complex beer. When I first drank it I didn't like it much. But as I continued with some other beers and then went back, I really started to appreciated the taste. I'd buy it again. It has 4.7% ABV. I paid $11.49 for a six pack.
Warsteiner Premium Verum

The Warsteiner brewery was founded in 1753 and is located in Warsteiner, Germany. Warsteiner Premium Verum is a pilsner style beer that, according to their website, is the the best selling German beer in the world. At fist sip I thought that it was similar to most of the cheaper American pilsners. Then I was hit with the rich, full bodied taste that instantly told me this was not a cheap brew. It swallowed clean and refreshing with almost no aftertaste. Definitely a very great pilsner that I will buy again. I buy most of my brews at a local liquor store that specializes in beers from around the world, but this one came from my local Publix supermarket. It has 4.8% ABV and I paid between $7 -$8 for a six pack (sorry, like a dunce I threw the receipt away).
Harviestoun Bitter and Twisted

Holy cow I loved this beer. It was expensive and I can see why, it's brewing perfection. It's bitter in the mouth, smooth, slightly sharp, lemony and swallows clean with no lingering aftertaste. Now before you start quoting the "man law" about not fruiting our beers, let me say that there are no lemons used in the brewing process. Rather, the label tells you that the flavor comes from late hopping using Styrian Goldings (a type of hop), mixed with two other types of hops. It has a golden color and pours with a short head. It has 4.2% ABV and I paid $5.49 for one 500ml bottle. That breaks down to 1pint 0.9 ounces. Yeah, expensive.

Okay, that's all till next week. I have a request that I'm gonna work on and some other interesting brews I've been eying so stay tuned!
