KILL ALL HUMANS!

I thought scientists were supposed to be intelligent. Let me rephrase. I thought intelligence meant you were smart. Actually, it just means your good at storing data and recalling it. It doesn't mean that there is any "common sense" running around in that noggin. Oh, btw... "common sense" isn't as common as it used to be. Eh, maybe it never was. People like being FUBAR, even the intelligent ones. Don't get me wrong I'm not bashing scientists. I love science. Our discoveries always keep me fascinated and wanting more. If only it were possible for me to explore the stars or the deepest depths of the oceans with my own eyes! My only problem is that whenever science discovers something it doesn't fully understand it makes assumptions. Unfortunately for us these assumptions sometimes gets us to believe in the ludicrous. Read this little story:

Now, I don't know if these cells are alien or not. Fact is, there may be no way of ever knowing for certain. It's neat to think that they are from space, but they could just as easily be from our own oceans. Science needs to beware of becoming it's own religion. We can't assume microbes are alien if we can't prove it or we have left science for belief. We can't find old bones and say they were ancient man just because we want them to be. We have to have facts. How many times has science offered up bones as evolutionary proof only to have them debunked years later. Hello, McFly... if there were ancient ancestors of man then there were ancient anscestors of primates of all types. DON"T ASSUME! I'm not going to bash religion either, but this is no different than a random stain looking like the Madonna or even Christ himself. Are they signs from God or just stains? Are these microbes from Earth or deep space? If we don't know we don't know. But we can believe. There's nothing wrong with that. Believe it if you want. Just don't call it science.
