Shared on Thu, 09/14/2006 - 09:06So we got our new Dell this week and it's awesome. Although I was pissed off because I booted the thing up and all of these programs popped up with their set up windows. Let's see, McAffee's security suite was in my face immediately followed by Dell's update program, then Norton's Ghost backup and restore crap, then Windows popped up a bunch of shit with the SP2 security features, then Microsoft Office had some sort of trial suite and wanted me to dig through my discs and paperwork to find a trial subscription number. NetZero was in there somewhere as was AOL. I mean, WTFingF!!???, all I want is for my OS to load so I can begin arranging things the way I want. Jared gets angry when a bunch of trial software is in his face immediately asking for a subscription number so he can use a shitty program for 30 days before he has to pay $39.95 for it!!! I told all this to my friend Doug, and he reminded me that none of that shit happened when he got his Mac.
Once I took 45 minutes or so to uninstall MS Office 2003 trial, Norton Ghost, Corel PictureShop (or whatever it was), NetZero, AOL, McAffee Security Suite, the SQL service, etc., then I installed the programs I actually wanted. I also popped the case to see if I could install my old DVD burner and my 80GB hard drive. The DVD burner should go in fine, but I've got to get some sort of plastic latch to install the hard drive. Dell wasn't kind enough to provide me with one. They also didn't provide me with an IDE cable, but I guess I'll just get one out of the old machine. Once we get all of that set up and transfer some stuff from the old machine, we should be good to go. :D
Oh! The other thing I have to figure out is that I got a 160 GB hard drive with the machine. 'My Computer' shows two drives, the C: which is a total of 100 GB (98 GB free) and the D: (which is deceptively named "Backup") which is a total of 30 GB (29 GB free). Um, so where's my other 30 GB? I had to check my order this morning to make sure that I did in fact order a 160 GB drive, and I did. I'm guessing that there a partition of about 30 GBs that wasn't formatted, so now I get to play with fdisk tonight. Sheesh.
I decided it was time to post another gameplay. I haven't capped anything since our match with FbK, so no new stuff. Sorry. This is a scrim that Team Spooooon did against Fr33f4ll, Budman, Killer De Wolf, and A Hovis. It's CTF on Midship and ends 5-4 in our favor. I get the last cap as I'm running trying to escape the nades and BR fire of the malcontents. Here it is:
CTF on Midship (108MB)
As always, comments appreciated.
