2old2play will be holding a writers contest to bring content into the magazine/website. The winner will score themselves a choice of prizes!
Prizes include:
1. Logitech G15 Gamer Keyboard
2. Table Tennis for the Xbox 360
3. Galactic Civilizations II: Dread Lords for the PC.
The winner can select which item they want, the second place chooses one of the remaining, and third place gets the last item.
The contest will involve each individual choosing a pre-defined editorial topic and writing a 2 page article about the subject. The participants will submit their work and it will be made available via the 2o2p Magazine and front-page 2old2play website. The topics, defined below, will each have one writer assigned to cover them. The topics will be handed out first come first serve, so the faster you ask for the topic the better chance you will receive it. As topics are taken they will be removed from the available list.
The Rules
1. Submissions will only be accepted from registered 2old2play members.
2. Documents must be formatted with a word processor in a document (.doc) file format.
3. All text should be 10 point with justified text alignment (as you would see in a magazine) and must use at least 50% of the second page.
4. No double spacing.
5. Submissions are judged as “final copies” – not rough drafts. You can consult individuals you know or associate with to perform proofing/editing, but I will not use the 2old2play editor staff to “pretty it up.”
6. Submissions must be in by July 3rd, 2006.
7. Article must focus on given topic that you have selected.
The 2old2play editor staff will be able to participate in this contest because “one that can edit writing does not always make the best writer themselves.” -CodeMonkey
How do you win?
The community is the judge; your articles will be seen by your peers and voted upon. The person with the highest votes will receive the #1 spot and will be the proud owner of your choice of 3 prizes.
Excluded from writing
The chief editor will not be submitting content for the contest because a) he owns the game, b) he has too many editing contacts.
Judging Suggestions
The community will be the judge, but please consider grammar, sentence structure, coverage of the topic, readability and flow, and overall interesting/fun reading. The editorial should focus on the topic handed to you without running off into the wild blue yonder of random thoughts.

Send an e-mail to: editor@2old2play.com and tell them which topic number you want to choose and what your 2old2play registered name is (so I can keep track of you all). You may want to consider sending three in order of priority just incase your topic was very recently taken and the list has not been updated yet.
The exact process of voting has not yet been determined. The contest has been announced now so that people can get writing before the deadline of July 3rd, 2006.
