Button Tuning with the Plastic Rockers

Do you just love Rock Band? Are you a freak for Guitar Hero: World Tour? Do you sit in front of your TV for hours on end trying to nail that one song at the expert level? Well we’re here to fuel that fire.

In this new weekly column Big0ne and I will be covering anything and everything we can think of when it comes to the music gaming genre. Want to know the new hot tracks for Rock Band and don’t have time to go to the Rock Band forums, find the list of songs, go to YouTube, and then listen to each one individually? No Sweat. We've done that for you. And a bunch of other stuff for that matter.

Here are a few things we’ll be covering:

Hardware reviews

We're serious about our peripherals. If we can get our hands on it we’ll do a review. If you’ve got something you want to try but don’t have the time -- hit us up. We’ll see what we can do about getting one and trying it out.

Track pack reviews / rumors

Your money is precious these days, and you don’t want to waste it on a shitty bunch of songs. We’ll be checking out the songs in all the up-and-coming track packs as they are rumored and released to let you know if they rock, or need to get chopped. Is the AC/DC “expansion pack” a track pack or a true expansion pack, and is it really worth the dough? Read our Track Pack Review to find out.

Tips & Tricks

Everyone loves to be at the top of the leader board, or at least not suck. We’ll scour the interwebs for the best tips, tricks, and advice, for noobs and experts so that you, the loyal members of 2old2play, can kick the shit out of the world. Or just the people on your friends list.

Achievement Whoring

Do you have an achievement that you just can’t seem to get? We can help. We’ll teach you the best songs, genres and instruments to get that pesky achievement. Hell, if need be we’ll jump online and get it for you.

Column Sponsored Events and Contests

We’ve got some cool stuff planned for the future, and that’s all we’re saying about that at the moment. Stay tuned.

Bands, Artists, and Genre

Got a favorite type of music, band, or artist that you’d love to see in a rhythm game? Well we do too. We’ve got a shit load of 'em we’d like to see and we want you to get to know them.

Special Features

What types of music should never be in Rock Band? Disney songs. They aren’t bands and they don’t ROCK. There are some really shitty songs out there and we made the mistake of buying a few of them. We’ll try to forewarn you about these steaming piles so you can stay as far away as possible and not waste your hard earned money.

What’s the best set-up for the best rhythm game experience. Music blaring through surround sound, or listening to the game with a set of Trittons? Everyone has their own special set up they need to feel like they are truly rocking out, right? Right? We're not just obsessive fanboys, are we? Right? We’re going to try each and every one to let you know what set-up is best for your gaming style.

Last but not least, we’ll help you find the most helpful Rock Band/rhythm game websites so you can track your scores, downloadable content, and anything else. There are a ton out there, and anyone could get lost trying to find their way around. We’ve had some help from our friends in finding them and now we’d like to help you get to know all the ways to heighten your Geek cred.

If you love to rock out with your plastic instruments in front of you television with the music blaring, then don’t miss this weekly column. Stay tuned every Thursday for updates and information about your favorite game and genre.

Last but not least (the real last but not least), We want your feedback! If you have a suggestion or topic for us, we want to know about it. If you just want to leave comments about Big0ne's unnatural affection for Bon Jovi or want to request a review from NoGame on the new Singstar ABBA title please let us know. We are not very imaginative guys, so we'll need all your ideas to steal and take credit for.
