WoW! It's number one again....

The NPD Group has released its best-selling retail PC games for July 2006 (North America). Top #1 Game: World of Warcraft (again)

Second in the line, Cars: Radiator Springs Adventure by THQ. The third, fourth, and fifth place were all The Sims 2 franchise games (including expansion packs).

Games like NCSoft's Guild Wars moved up two spots to number six and Half-Life 2: Episode 1 fell down to number nine (although the NPD group currently does not support online sales records, so Steam downloads do not count).

How is it possible that World of Warcraft, an aging game graphically, continues to dominate the top most portions of North American sales? I think it installs nicotine into the PC which slowly blows out the power supply fan. That must be it, right?
