Alrigt, a lot has been written about Hot Coffe. A lot. But this is getting not just sily, but plain stupid. A Grandmother is suing Rockstar Games because the title rated 'M' which she bought for her 14 year old grandson has mature content.
When Hillary Clinton showed her self to be the media whore that she is and jumped on this, that was perhaps to be expected. The federal investigation by the FTC seems misplaced, but with Hillary burning her panties over this, pehaps this too was to be expected?

With Lawyer Jack Thomson leaping off the deep end calling GTA a 'murder simulator' (which when you think about it is unfortunately a fairly difficult label to ignore), and apparently launching some kind of class action suit for $600 million, ambulance chasers the world over bowed their heads in respect. But this? This is stupid.
Wait, the whole damed mess is stupid.

Um, hello Granny, can we say contributory negligence? How dumb is it that this woman can buy a game for a minor, a game that is specifically labelled as not being suitable for minors and then turn around and sue the game maker? Perhaps Rockstar should sue her A-double-dollar for buying the game for a kid in the first place?
Several things about this whole mess bother me. Rockstar should have come clean and admitted this was an easter egg in the game in the first place. The ESRB should have known about it and rated it appropriately. This whole ratings thing is strange to me, an 'M' rated game is for 17+ and an AO (adults only) means 18+. Well, wht a difference a year makes. Are we really so uptight thata people who can drive, have consentual sex, pay taxes, fight for their country and so forth are not allowed to view some poorly executed pixelated soft p0rn?
I absolutely love that the most offensive thing about GTA is the sex mini-game, which btw features a consentual relationship. The rest of the game, the murder, car-jacking, prostitution, murder, gun crime, theft, cop-killing, murder etc is apparently OK, but featuring a tiny little sex game which isn't even available to most users causes all of this?
Oh yeah, we have our priorities straight in this country. It's OK to watch as much vilence on TV, in movies or in games, but as soon as you see a bare nipple, even accidentally, there's a holy war against the p0rnographic content. How screwed up is it that we as a society have a higher tolerance for violence and murder than we have for sex between consenting adults? How even more screwed up is it that we waste so much time and money pissing our pants over the low grade sex game in a video game, which although it has fairly good graphics, is hardly the p0rno of choice. Not to mention that I can google *any* kind of image or mpeg that I want to in a matter of seconds. It's far simpler to google some p0rn than fight my way thouugh the cheats in GTA to get some.
Gotta love a country where it's acceptable to buy semi-automatic weapons and as much ammunition as your pick-up truck can carry, but not to play a tiny sex game in a video game.
The irony is that the likes of Clinton and Thompson actually believe that this is a pressing social issue. Perhaps they should turn their eagle eyes to the gun industry, or the violence in the media? Hell look at what kids can see in a PG-13 movie!
Did you read the story about the teenager who killed two cops and h=now his attorney is blaming video games. Um, how about we look at why this kid was so screwed up in the first place, and how he got the gun instead of looking at an excuse?
Whatever.
It's a small step, but if the FTC gets involved in regulating game content, where does it stop?
Like I said, this is just plain stupid.
