TS:FP arrived Saturday and I have about 4 hours gametime in on it. If you liked the last version of TS, you will like this one. They have not changed much to the core game, just added a bunch of new content. This is a faster paced, more comical game than Halo2. There are 150 different characters you can play as including robots, hot chicks, zombies, monkeys, robot monkeys, zombie monkeys, fish, cow carcasses, and a dude who thinks he is a robot (but not a monkey). The map design is good and the graphics are awesome. The gameplay is not as good as Halo2 but still okay. The biggest problem with the gameplay is the weapons.
They don't seem balanced and don't seem that accurate or powerful. There are times when I just switch to melee and pummel my opponents. There is a large variety of weapons so there is a chance that I will find a good weapon set later. The coolest aspect of the game is the mapmaker mode. I have spent more time on this then the actual game. You can build multilevel maps and there are like 6-8 different themes to it. It is fairly simple to use and you can setup CTF, assault, and other types of games. Once your map is finished, you can upload your map so that others can download it to their xbox. Also, when starting a game, I can select my custom map and other people who haven't downloaded the map can still play with downloading it. The Live interface sucks. I have no access to the clan members just the friends list.
You can and will join games in progress which will choose your character at random - I have been a little girl a couple times. You can start the game before all the players pick their team - which leads to unbalanced teams often. The spawn points are in the main areas so it is quite common for a person to spawn right next to you. However, there are a lot of funny aspects to this game. Have you ever been killed by a monkey, or a zombie deer? Sometimes when you kill a monkey, the announcer yells out "Chimp-a-cide!" It's funny stuff. This could be a really fun game when played with geezers, but I can't say for sure right now.
