Database hacking causes harm to second life gamers real world information. No unencrypted credit card information was taken...
This is perhaps one of the biggest hacks to occur in a massive scale online gaming service. It has been confirmed that the database was indeed hacked and some of the unencrypted customer information was stolen. This includes account names, real-life names and contact information.
The Second Life team has invalidated all account passwords and is asking users to login and reset them to avoid any mis-use of their accounts.
If you're a Second Lifer expect to get login errors until you connect to their website or phone support and reset the password information to something you will remember (again). I would suggest a different password than the one you previously had.
