It appears from the Halo 3 trailer that the Chief's welcome home is anything but warm. To top it all off, Bungie Studio's says that Halo 3 is the end of the line for the Master Chief.
In an article posted on 680news.com C.J. Cowan, director of cinematics for developer Bungie Studio, explained to reporters "It was all set up for this, this is the final game in the Master Chief's story, this is the end of our trilogy."
This same article also included that this chapter would be a bit darker and moodier chapter to the story. The article further admitted that the trailer “was intended to be an understated announcement of Halo 3," art director Marcus Lehto explained on bungie.net. "The tone is that of mystery and suspense - the calm before the storm. I wanted to make sure that we reintroduced the Chief, show that Earth is thoroughly conquered, with Covenant everywhere, and that there is a glorious, ancient artifact buried under the Earth's crust which will provide H3 with the epic journey which we all want."
The next year will prove to be exciting as we are given tiny morsels of Halo 3 one spoonful at a time. I for one am looking forward to watching in all unfold. See the full story HERE.
