Epic released the game to manufacturing today (aka the game has gone GOLD) to start mass producing the discs for the Nov 7th ship date. Emergence Day draws closer.
To help stir the already over active hype machine around this game, there is a new full HD 720p trailer on Xbox Live Marketplace that you can download an enjoy. The trailer is awesome in high def and that is what you can expect the game to look like when you play it. Epic made Gears run at 30 frames per second so they could amp up the graphic quality while still keeping the game running smooth.
There's some confusion over when Emergence Day really is. Some places say the 8th, some say the 12th, some every say the 14th. So when exactly is Emergence Day and why the range? Well Oct 12th is the official Emergence Day. That is the day you should be able to walk into any big box store and pick it up off the shelf. However because of the pre-order quantities, demand and hype, specialty game stores plan on having their trucks parked at Microsoft Game Studio's warehouses on the 7th to drive the game directly to stores. If you live in the Seattle area, you may be able to find it late on the 7th. Some stores in the vicinity of Washing State (Oregon, Cali, Idaho, Arizona etc) are planning midnight sales for pre-order customers. So in general, you will find it at specialty game stores on or slightly after the 8th and big box stores like Target, Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Circuit City and the like on or around the 12th. So if want it sooner rather than later, call your local EB Games and Game Stops and see what their plans are.
