First Oblivion Glitch Found

As most 2o2p members can tell you, we normally don't condone glitching within our community.  Taking advantage of a mistake in the developers code and using it to your advantage is never what the game designers intended. In this case, we decided to report on a glitch because at least with Oblivion it will not affect players other gamers as it does in multiplayer environments. The only people you will be cheating is yourselves. Mostly we were just amazed at how fast this glitch was found. Only read on if you really want to know...

The glitch was emailed to 2o2p from a non-member so I checked to see if it was valid first.  Part of me thought it was going to just delete my character or freeze my game.  Instead it worked just as described.

From IGN Forums:

"Go to the Talos district of the Imperial city, find a house owned by a gentlemen named Dorian, it will be "Dorians House" of course, it's in the SE section of the Talos district. Anyway, break into his house, find him, when he tells you to leave kill his ass dead. Loot his body, click on the gold he's carrying and keep hitting A like you normally would, over and over, it will keep giving you gold, the number of gold pieces left will freeze when it gets to 8 gold pieces and it won't go any lower, it will just keep giving you all the gold you could ever desire. I have loaded it and tried it twice to make sure it's not a fluke, and it's not, i just keep getting as much gold as i want."

Most likely Oblivion will have to release a fix for the 360 in order to stop people from using the glitch. While it does seem harmless, achievement points can be received much faster with unlimited loot then without it.  So far it seems limited to only the console although 2o2p has no way to test the PC version at this time. Remember, Oblivion was created to be a role playing game that can be played numerous times with different characters.  This glitch will almost certainly cheapen the games replay value and story line.
