Activision announced today that Call of Duty 2, by their internal team Infinity Ward, has sold more then one-million 360 game units. This is in the U.S. alone!
This #1 best selling game on the Xbox 360 console is proof that next-generation gaming is here to stay. This game has a great story (well, historically speaking), popular multi-player and a challenging single-player mode.
He goes on to say that "Activision has made a strong commitment to develop leading franchises for the next-generation consoles and we look forward to continuing that successful strategy with our titles launching on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii this fall."
Robin Kaminsky isn't lying or using marketing speak. Activision put their money where their mouth is after the launch of the Xbox 360 by releasing a patch for multi-player capabilities. The released game had many imperfections in the multi-player functionality and nasty lag. The game also had a few save corruptions that were fixed.
Although the games critical corruptions on saved games was a "must have fix" many of the multi-player capabilities were added due to a public outcry for new features and fixes. Activision put Infinity Ward on the case and produced a patch that has pushed the game to new levels (literally). Now, it is one of the more popular multi-player games on Xbox 360.
