Plenty of unsubstantiated claims say Burning Crusades has slipped its release date. Forum posters say they have heard, "through credible sources," that the game has slipped its date. True or not true?
Official blizzard representatives have confirmed the rumor today, stating that the game has been delayed. The original Burning Crusades F.A.Q (still yet to be updated) says "late 2006," however both Blizzard (and EBGames release schedule) says differently.
Although Blizzard sited a date of "January 2007" ebgames.com has 01/23/07 as the ship date for this title. This may be a placeholder for a solid date by Blizzard or it may be the latest details provided by the MMO company.
Blizzard has not stated why the delay has occurred but the additional month of testing allows their closed beta to expand through the holiday season. Unfortunately for the Blizzard development crew, that means late breaking bugs and updates may interrupt some turkey feasts and holiday cheer.
