AMD has announced that its ending the ATi brand name. This name is being replace, of course, by the name AMD. Your ATi product is now a relic!
AMD is definately dropping the ATi brand name, but it's still up in the air about the product line names (Radeon being a popular one).
This is a take-over of ATi and not a merging or division or subsidiary. AMD is the proud owner of the technology and as far as they care the name ATi isn't needed.
This is a bold move by AMD - ATi is a known brand on the video card market and not everyone "in the know" may understand why ATi has disappeared on the product shelves.
Keeping the "Radeon" name will be much more important considering the amount of OEM products that exist for the Radeon product line.
Thanks to TANK for the information.
