2old2play Awesome Town Stimulus Plan!!!
Here’s the skinny: we’ve had a group of very generous people decide to do something unprecedented in 2old2play contests ... wait for it … wait for it … we’re going to give away round trip airfare for one person from anywhere in the continental U.S to Chicago (or gas money if you are driving), two nights stay at the Wyndham O’Hare for two people (one night each), one LAN ticket, pay for one person’s Friday night bar tab up to $100 dollars (c'mon, Thursday night is the real drinking night, not Friday -- ed.) and last but not least we’re giving two people their choice of any Xbox or Playstation game to be hand delivered at the LAN. That’s over nine berjillion dollars* worth of prizes for seven lucky winners!*Not redeemable for cash equivalent
Why are we doing this?
We want everyone to experience what 2old2play has to offer and the LAN plays a very significant part in this giant community. It’s the culmination of the 2o2p Annual Calendar and it something that must be experienced, not seen. Every one of us has found his or her own place at 2old2play, be it the clan forums, blogs, off topic or the dark corners of the NSFW forum. The people who embrace the site and make it their online home are very passionate about this place and while online communication is awesome, there's no substitute for meeting your friends face to face. These aren’t strangers. They are your crew. They are your "real" friends. Who doesn't want to hang out with their friends, play games and get schnockered?
What do I have to do?
We want to know how you feel about 2old2play and the LAN. If you have been to the LAN, we want you to find a picture that depicts your feelings about your trip. If you haven’t been, we want to see how you would feel if you got a chance to go, or you can send us a pic that shows us how you feel about 2old2play in general. The pictures can be of yourself, someone else, or something else, it doesn’t really matter what it is as long as it shows how you feel about the LAN or 2old2play.
Here’s an example of how the LAN makes doodi feel every year.
After you’ve selected your picture, send it to contests@2old2play.com and the Press and Writers Corp. will pick the best of the crop. Those selected will then be voted upon by the site. All pictures will be anonymous until the winner is announced at the end of the contest so as to avoid a popularity contest.
The Rules and Other Fine Print
One submission will be allowed per person. If you submit more than one picture you will be disqualified. Pictures should be somewhat decent and something we can put on the front page if you do win. Please do not send us pictures of the Pain Olympics, or "2 girls, 1 cup." You won’t win and should you decide to attend the LAN, a measured response will be forthcoming.
Once the winners have been determined, we will contact them via PM. They will have 24 hours to respond due to the time-sensitive nature of this contest (plane tickets aren't getting any cheaper). If they do not respond within 24 hours, the spoils transfer to the next winner down the line; i.e. 2nd place gets first place, 3rd place gets 2nd place, and so on.
The airline ticket will be purchased for you at your airport of choice; all you need to do is show up with the proper identification. The airline ticket is for the continental United States and Canada only. If you are driving to the LAN we will be sending you a Visa gift card with a pre-determined amount of money loaded onto the card depending on your location in the U.S. If you have already bought your airline ticket we will reimburse you if and only if you can provide valid proof-of-purchase.
Someone else is paying for my room. What do I do? Easy. Contact them and let them know you won a free night at the hotel, and then contact us with their information. 2old2play will contact them and reimburse them for the one night. Hotel lodging is the regular cost of the room that 2old2play has reserved in our LAN block. This does not include any incidentals such as mini-bars or room service. If you want to upgrade your room you can, but you will be paying the difference in price.
The bar tab will begin at the start of the LAN and end when the bar closes. The amount to be paid is $100 dollars even not a penny more. So if you win and don’t have the cash to pay extra make damn sure you don’t go over the line. We don’t want to see someone get stuck with a $900 dollar bar bill.
LAN ticket prize will be shipped to the winner’s house as soon as we receive a response PM with a valid mailing address.
The two, video games will be handed to the winners on opening day of the LAN. If you cannot attend the LAN, we will ship to your place of residence at your cost. There will be two winners receiving their game of choice, not to exceed a value of $59.99 plus tax.
- 1st place prize = round trip airfare to Chicago
- 2nd place prize = Two (2) nights hotel stay (one night each for two winners)
- 3rd place prize = $100 bar tab for one person
- 4th place prize = LAN ticket
- 5th place prize = Two (2) games of your choice (one apiece for two winners)
All prizes are transferrable. If you win a prize and you want to give it away to another less fortunate 2o2p member, you can do so by letting 2old2play know to whom you want to give your prize away in the initial PM. This contest is time-sensitive so we’ll need to know as soon as possible who you want to give your winnings.
If you cannot attend the LAN please transfer your prize to someone else (though it should go without saying that if you don't plan to attend, you probably shouldn't enter). All prizes are for people who will be attending the LAN so if you can't make it, let us know so we can transfer your prize to someone who can.
Who Can Enter?
Entrants must be a member of 2old2play in good standing, over the age of 25 (duh), and have signed up on the site no later than March 9th, 2009. If you are thinking of signing up with the site just for the contest, think again. We want to ensure that no youngins try to sign up just for the free stuff. The sky is the limit on what kind of picture you take or select, so go wild. We only ask that you don't use copywritten materials to do so.

Disclaimer: The Contest will be begin Wednesday May 13 and will end May 26th, 2009. All entries must be in to 2old2play by midnight PST, May 26th, to count for the contest. The winner will be contacted via site PM, so please make sure you check your PMs May 27th. If the winners do not respond within 24 hours of the contest's end, the runner-up becomes the winner.
A simple ID will get the winning member into the LAN. 2old2play, 2old2play sponsors, employees of 2old2play, or sponsors may not be held liable for any warranty, costs, damage, injury, or any other claims incurred as a result of usage of any winners of a prize once possession has been taken of the product by winner.
