3.14 is upon us once more and in honor of this nerdiest of days I entered a Pie Contest yesterday. My entry into this contest was a Whiskey & Bacon Pecan Pie, it was a crowded favorite but unfortunately I came in 2nd place losing to a Moroccan Chicken Pie.

And yes the symbol of Pi on top is made of chopped bacon.

So I ran a 5k over the weekend, lots of fun a bit crowded there were like 12500 doing the 5k and 12500 doing a 15k. And the best part was that you get lots of chocolate at the end of it.  I think I'm going to do a turkey trot 5k in a couple of weeks and there better be turkey at the end of that run.

This year for Halloween we dressed up Toddler Matteo as Superman and the dog as Krypto.

 I finished my 1st week of training for my 1st 5k, I know 3 miles isn't that far but for a couch potato like myself its like a mini marathon:) The 5K race is signed up for is on April 24th http://www.earthday5kchicago.com/ I have a goal in mind I know I can do it.
