Work, work...sleep...work some more

Working 2 jobs officially sucks.

Currently, as stated yesterday, my wife and I are starting to look for a house, as were very tired of throwing our hard-earned gas money down the bottomless pit that is apartment rental.  That, and a crazy neighbor that just creeps us out is another very good reason to leave our current abode.  This all sounds wonderful, but theres a small catch.  Im double employed!

I took the 2nd job at BB to earn a little extra income, but the problem has now become that theyre working me to DEATH.  Im full-time and salaried at my primary job and already pull 40+ hours at that one.  Tack on an addl 20+ hours, and it makes house hunting incredibly difficult.  Plus, getting the management to understand I need more time away from the store so I can actually get my life together just doesnt seem to be clicking.  So, Im going to talk to the management today to see if I can get a nice reduction in hours so I can find a house and maybe, just maybe, purchase.

The highlight of the new house is my home theater.  My wife (God bless her) has allowed me to have the basement for my own decor and design.  SO...in the spirit of all things grandiose and overblown, Im going to build a complete home theater.  Depending on the basement size, Im going with a 50-57" 1080p DLP from either Toshiba, Samsung, or Mitsubishi and adding either a Pioneer or Yamaha receiver and Klipsch speakers.  Im hoping I can pull off a decent wiring job and use some cheap curtains from Target to achieve the full theater look.  Im estimating around a month to get EVERYTHING done in there, but well see once I actually get the house.

Cant wait to see Prey on a large-screen TV with full surround sound in a good acoustic room.  Ahhh...tis nice to dream...

If you have any questions about home theater, consult WallyBR the site AV guru. He can definately make your head spin with all the info. Also, if your shooting for a basement home theater why limit yourself to a 50+ in screen? Look into a projector they are similarily priced or sometimes cheaper, and you can easily do 100+ in. Just food for thought.
