The hubby is turning 40 in July. Old man. Anyway, I want to plan something for him to celebrate the big four-oh....What would be the best 40th birthday party you could think of? Give me some ideas...


I was thinking Vegas, but he hates flying. Vegas still might not be out though. We'll just get his doc to prescribe better anti-anxiety drugs and he'd have fun once we got there. I was also thinking of renting a big boat, getting a band and throwing a floating party on some large body of water. Seems like that would be fun too...Or maybe just splurge on an extra nice gift?

Big party, lots of friends. Tell him you got him a threesome (because every man wants a threesome for his 40th...girls...don't you already know that?) but he will need oral skills. Then pull out two uninflated blow-up dolls.\r

Just knowing that someone would go to the trouble to put a party together was enough for my 40th. Everything else was gravy. You are a good woman Tara. Dean will appreciate the gesture no doubt.

Everyone has already gone down the sexual and somewhat funny path... So, I'll give ya a good idea.... Take him to a comedy club or concert whatever is going on in the cities... Of course dinner @ Manny's downtown... Then by the time you get all of that done have a surprise party at your house, make sure that everybody parks at a park or local business... Have all the over the hill crap and balloons, etc... Make sure all the guest realize to bring over the hill gag gifts.... Once everyone clears out make him feel like he is 20 again!!!! My wife told me we were going out to eat with a couple of friends. Well she had set me up bigtime, there was about 50 people there all friends and family. I cried a little. 8)\r \r

Having turned 40 a few years ago, I have some insight on this. Friends and booze, make sure he knows people still like and respect him, then come one to him hard so he knows he's still sexy. Come to think of it, on my birthday the last part is really all I wanted. That and booze.

Not flying definitely cuts down on your geographical range. Vegas is cool, even if you don't gamble. You guys could always head to San Diego and go fishing with Lusetti.

While he might not like flying, it might be worth the effort. A Vegas trip now is INCREADIBLY cheep given the economy and the hit the casinos are taking. But...don't tell him where you're going. Don't even go to the right gate at first. I'd say drug him...but that might be a little extreme. :)

Thats what the wife and I did for our 40th Vegas,It was expensive but fun with several friends.

I say Vegas too...there's nothing a little chemistry won't take care of...a valium or 2 and he'll be so happy...take a video...then we can all enjoy! :D

Depends on what he likes to do.. my wife threw me a huge WWII themed party for my 40th.. loads of friends flown in from all over.. lots of recreational destruction and beer.. not for everyone, but it was the perfect thing for me.\r \r The big boat party sounds like a really great idea as well.

Hmm, I'm not good at these things, especially since I don't know your hubby or his interests. Go with your gut. I KNOW I'd enjoy a Vegas trip. Oh, and what happens in Vegas, STAYS in Vegas! ;) :)\r
