That's right!  I finally quit putting off the inevitable.  I kept telling myself that I'd wait to see how work was going or if I'd have the extra $ laying around, but I finally got real with myself and decided that those things weren't really going to matter.  I was going to go anyway.  So this morning I finally pulled the trigger and bought my ticket.  Still need to book a room but I can do that after lunch. 

For the month of April, the Old Man Mafia has been doing a Gamerscore Challenge.  I'm not doing too bad but we have a couple of guys who are simply crushing it and I know I have no hope in hell of catching them at this point.  I've tried to simply just mine out the AC points for the games that I already have and never got around to finishing.  I've also not tried to do anything that would take days or weeks to finish just to get the points.  Particularly if I had no interest in doing that in the first place.  Finishing COD2 on Veteran comes to mind.  Where I could though, I've tried to put

Why do we tell our kids not to curse?

Why do we tell our kids not to smoke, drink and do drugs?

Why aren't kids allowed to view porn?

Why do we keep kids from watching movies with over the top violence?

Why do we tell our daughters that their clothes might be too tight/short/low?

Why do we set curfews for kids?

Think for a minute about the following...

Last night I was watching an instructional video from the mid eighties and noticed something I hadn't seen in a while.  The speaker was in a small conference room and had a blackboard behind him he would use to write out key words and such.  It wasn't the polyester fashions or the sea of Dorthy Hamil hair cuts that struck my attention, it was when the speaker turned to the chalkboard and started writing......in cursive!

I've been blessed to have at least a passing desire for a somewhat active lifestyle, a relatively "fast" metabolism and a taller then average physique.  All that has combined to keep me relatively splendor for most of my life.  I've read dozens of blogs here on the site from people trying to shed a few pounds and always thought "whatever, boring, I'm moving on".  Well, yesterday I decided that I'm simply not as slender as I'd like to be and it's time to do something about it.  I'm not sure why the revelation yesterday, but nonetheless, it's time.
