It appears the latest fad these days to try and get the Government to trust you so that you can learn some secrets and then run and blab them to the press as quickly as you can.  Apparently, Article III Section III of the Constitution does not count as long as you do not have your name printed in the newspaper.  Apparently we learned nothing from Hanoi Jane and the Winter Soldier Congressional testimony?

I just saw your post and thought Id comment. The reason that they didnt want their names printed is because theyd be dead. Dont you remember that movie with Alec Baldwin "Mercury something?" anyway, the NSA is bad dudes. I dont really care if they make a database of who I call. If I was making calls to terrorists, I might be concerned though.

Dude, they are recording every phone call that every American makes domestically. You dont think that that is a breach of our constitutional rights to freedom and privacy thats worth exposing? And by the way just a few weeks ago they insisted that they werent doing that because it would be illegal without a warrant, that they were only listening to calls going out of the country, to suspected terrorist. I agree that there are horrible breaches of state secrets that deserve to be punished, like the outing of a CIA undercover agent by senior White House officials, for personal and petty political retaliation. A CIA agent that was working to stop Iran from getting Nukes. Cant get more devastating then that in our current world environment. However, there are also heroic whistle-blowers who put themselves at great jeopardy to do the right thing and get the truth heard. "Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death" Is the quote i believe. In other words if you have to take away my freedoms, my liberty, to protect me, then I am dead already. Any way my 2 cents, not looking for a argument, just thought i would take the time to comment since you took the time to post and since no one had commented yet :-) BAT

My understanding is that these are simply logs of calls made, no content of the calls whatsoever. Whom I call and how long I talk to them is not really secret or privileged. Unfortunately the phone company has to keep a record of all the for billing. I, too, was curious that no one responded to the original post.
