Weekend in Review

This weekend was great. After being sick for the previous week, it was nice to finally feel better. The weather was crisp and cold, the way us Cana’jins like it. There was frost on the grass, and the leaves were changed to fire red. There is something about a nice fall morning that makes you feel alive. Wait, wtf am I talking about? I sound like Char…..*shakes head*

Chapter 2 in my port-mortem Xbox investigation. Best Buy, who I purchased the extended warranty from, told me that since the manufacturer’s warranty covers 12 months, that I have to send it in on my own. I always thought that warranty was 90 days. Oh well, no big deal. So I call 1-800-4MY-XBOX totally ready for the run-around, but to my surprise, I actually get a decent sounding guy on the other end who helped me diagnose the problem and get me through the process quickly. Instead of sending me out a coffin, as has been the process for a while, he emailed me a shipping label for me to put on my own box. This is great, now I don’t have to wait forever to the coffin to arrive. So far, I’m impressed. Hopefully I get it back quickly.

I have to say, not having an Xbox is very enlightening. Did you know that there are television programs on in the evening? I didn’t! AND, they’re entertaining. I actually watched baseball. I hate baseball. Red Sox suck. Who comes back from so many games down, only to lose in the ultimate game? Suxxorz.

The Maple Leafs are finally getting the job done... 1-2-2 so far in the season. What you say? That’s a losing record? No, I say, that is a great record. The Leafs, for the last 15 years, have been solidly mediocre. The problem with this is that by finishing in the middle of the pack every year they get a tough playoff match up, get eliminated early on, and they get a shitty draft pick to boot. None of which will move the team forward. What the Leafs need is a last place season so that we can get our hands on a top prospect. This year seems to be it. I think we will kick some serious suck this year. *fingers crossed*

I took my dog to the park three times this weekend. I think he’s going to sleep for a month. He is 8 ½ months old now and just getting accustomed to the social ranks at the dog park. Dog socialization reminds me either of high school or prison. That is a scary thought. Once one dog shows weakness, all the other dogs jump on it and start the harassment. Then there is always the ‘top dog’ who nobody fucks with. That is definitely not my dog. He is the troublemaker. He will buzz by people like Maverick does by the flight deck. He is always running into people too. It’s like he doesn’t have any control when he is turning. Retarded dog.

X.

Bestbuy made you send it in. That is crap. That is why you get the bestbuy warranty. So you don't have to send it in and so that you get a new one the day it breaks. I would have been asking to talk to a manager being without a box that long is unhealthy.

X, and what beautiful prose it was. = ) Then you spoiled it by talking about baseball, but redemed yourself with the dog story. "Unaware" dogs are the best! Glad to hear you're feeling better.

well, I guess the warranty in Canada is different. It's not a replacement plan, its a service plan. Personally, I'd rather send it in my self to avoid any delays.
