Today's blog will be relatively short (no wall of text to confound LB this time ). I am getting ready to head out see the Watchmen on IMAX with my girl and some friends from Twitter. I am looking forward to this movie will report back on my impressions later. Though I presume that most of our members here at 2old2play are planning to see this flick as well.

After the movie, I will be heading over to a local Classic Video Game Swapmeet. A group of local collectors host these events a couple of times a year, giving classic video game enthusiasts from NE a chance to buy, sell and trade everything from classic consoles to stand-up arcade cabinets to posters and other classic gaming paraphenalia. I will take some pictures of the rarer items and post them as part of an upcoming edition of my new bi-monthly article on classic video games - Digital Memories. Keep an eye on the front page for Issue # 1 coming soon.

And last, but certainly not least for today's blog, I have confirmed an interview next week with Gerard K. Marino, Composer of several video game scores, including the music for the God of War Series. I was lucky enough to meet Gerard at this week's performance of the Video Game Orchestra at the Berklee Center for the Performing arts here in Boston and he was kind enough to agree to speak with me regarding his experiences composing musical scores for the video game industry and to let us know about upcomng projects that he is working on. So keep an eye out for this interview, also coming to the front page soon. In the meantime, head over to Gerard's website at www.gerardkmarino.com/ to learn more about his work.

Man, I had heard about the BBC issue, but was not prepared to the sheer quantity of BBC that was in that film. I mean, was that really necessary? Granted, if I was able to take whatever form I wished, I might sneak in a few enhancements too, but at least I would have the decency to cover up. Dr. Manahattan wears a thong when incinerating the Vietcong, but can't find his shorts when hanging out (literally) working on his generators? Please! I for one have seen enough BBC to last a lifetiime. My girl on the other hand, didn't seem to mind so much. Go figure.

Nice read. This is in reference to your blog before this one. I've been into video game concerts for a few years now. It all started with a Final Fantasy concert. Nobo Uematsu is one of my favorite composers. I go to them whenever I get the chance. My last one was "Video Games Live." It was more of a gaming nerd show (I mean that in a good way) than a straight concert. I had a blast. Those guys yelled during the whole show...lol. I brought my mother with us. She fell in love with Tommy after meeting him. She still drives me crazy about going to see more game concerts. I'm hoping to attend "Play," a video game symphony. I've been to one and it was a wonderful concert.
