I worked all day in the rain yesterday and apparently it got the best of me. Luckily, I was not scheduled to work today, so I have spent most of my time in bed trying to get some rest. I have a ton of content that I need to get formatted and posted, including several interviews and some video footage of the Boston Derby Dames Roller Derby Match from last week. Unfortunately, this is going to have to wait until tomorrow.

I have been working on finalizing some initial details for a very special event that I am working on to be held the Wednesday before PAX_EC comes to Boston. In case you have been living under a rock since the PAX-Flu took over Seattle, Penny Arcade will be bringing their annual Video Game Expo to Boston on March 26 - 28, 2010. You can learn all about this upcoming event at www.paxsite.com/paxeast/faqs.php . So as I stated, I am working with members of the 2odl2play staff and our friends over at SFX-360.com to bring a pretty exciting event to everyone during the week leading up to the big PAX_EC premier. We should have the venue confirmed this week and once we do, I will be able to let everyone know more. I think you will be excited and will want to come to Boston a few days early to make sure you can attend. This event will be a fundraiser for Child's Play and will include music, industry representatives, classic gaming and much more. So stay tuned. I hope to be able to bring you more info very shortly.

Finally, since I have spent the entire day inside today, I decided to put in some more practice on my Robotron cab and was able to break 1.5 million points. My next goal is 10 million, which I hope to exceed very soon. After that, I will be shooting for the contemporary record of 39,945,525 set by Jack Tchilingurian in 2004. Once I break Jack's score ( and I will), then it will be time to really start campaigning for a full review of the scores from the 1980's. In the meantime, here is a screenshot from my latest high score game.

At approximately what score is the game at the hardest level? I figure at that point it becomes a concentration and endurance contest.

Venom, pretty much, once you get past the first million, you can earn new players pretty fast and the difficulty levels out. You are right, it does pretty much become a test of endurance and concentration at that point. My 1.5 million point game took about 35 minutes, so I am averaging about 1 mil every 20 - 25 minutes. So to hit the 40 mil mark would take about 13 hours. No small feat. It's doable with practice, but by no means a sure thing.
