Warriors Mural at Coney Island, NY
A few days ago I mentioned in my blog that I discovered a new comic and game franchise was being released built around one of my favorite movies of all time - The Warriors. After picking up Issue # 1 of this comic series, I soon discovered that Paramount Games is working on a XBLA title slated for release this summer. Hearing this, I scrambled to find a contact for both the comic series and the game to see if I could get some more Beta on both and to perhaps score some cool Warriors-related SWAG for my 2old2play peeps. Well, it seems that I have hit pay dirt! I have been exchanging emails with Rich Young, the Business Manager at Dabel Brothers, the publishing company that is releasing the comic book series. I will be working with Rich to get more information about both the comic book series and the video game, interview some of the key contributors to both projects and yes, perhaps even score some cool merchandise for you, my fellow 2old2play Community Members.
In anticipation of the burgeoning partnership, I wanted to share with you some details on the comic book series that Rich shared with me today. First, here is a link to a story covering Issue # 1 on the comic book web site Previews: http://previewsworld.com/public/default.asp?t=1&m=1&c=23&s=216&ai=80344&ssd
Here is a little taste of what you can expect to see in Issue # 1.

You can also head over to Wizard Universe ( www.wizarduniverse.com/021209warriors.html ) to get a sneak preview of the cover for Issue # 4 and learn what inspired Chris Warner who did the artwork for this issue, which was colored by Kieran Oats.
God of War III

Well, if you have been following my Twitter lately (twitter.com/AOWWaterborn ), you will know that I am also psyched about the upcoming release of the third and final installment of the God of War Series by Sony Computer Entertainment. You can read up on this visceral fighter in the latest issue of Gamer Informer Magazine ( www.gameinformer.com/Magazine/ ).

This game looks amazing and is of such impressive scale that it may very well be the title that gets me to finally drop my money on the purchase of a PS3. In preparation for this game's release, I have been replaying through God of War I & II. If you have never played these games, you owe it to yourself to go to your local Gamestop and get a copy of each. Got rid of your PS2 a while ago? Well I would be willing to venture that it is worth the $50 it will cost you to purchase a used machine just to play through these titles. Even on Sony's "last generation" console, the scale and pure brutality of these games holds up to anything available on the market today.

My Personal God of War II PS2
Stay tuned for more updates on both of these franchises. It looks like it is going to be a great summer for games in 2009!
