So there are two more days until the MasterChef Open Casting Call in Cambridge, MA near where I live. I spent this evening tweaking the recipe that I will be submitting (pictured above). I need to do some more work on the presentation, but the basic concept is set. If my fiance's opinion is any indication, this dish is going to wow the judges. I am not letting the cat completely out of the bag until after my audition on Saturday, but I am very optimistic about my chances of moving on to the next stage. One reason for my optimism is that I received a call-back today from a representative of the casting agent for the show saying "we are looking forward to meeting you and tasting your dish." This was NOT a generic pre-recorded message and the lady on the other end of the line addressed me by name. If that was not enough good mojo for me, I secured a reserved place in line for the casting call thanks to Twitter. I follow the MasterChefUSA feed and won the space by answering a trivia question about Season I of the show. So as of tonight I have a confirmed recipe, a time slot for my audition and a ton of people rooting me on. I can't wait!
